Roadtrip 2018 Fall: Vancouver - Yakima - Bend - Carson City - Lone Pine - Palm Desert - Sedona - Palm Desert - Paso Robles - Calistoga - Brookings - Yachats - Cannon Beach - Vancouver

Day 31 - Sedona Lay Day

It's American Thanksgiving morning - and the clouds have rolled in for our entertainment pleasure.

If the clouds keep up this up, we may not leave our front deck for the rest of the day.

Today's top-secret Government test lab experiment seems to have to do with levitating mountain ranges. It appears the anti-gravity device distorts light into rainbows, much like that other thing we saw a few days ago.

Rain falls over the red rocks. This is why we've declared a lay day.

I could spin this picture into another Government Test Lab story, but nope, it's a barrel cactus. Sometimes a barrel cactus is just a barrel cactus.

We stroll down to the old town to discover that our Martian friends have followed us to Sedona. Last we saw them was in Bishop. They've landed their craft in Old Town central - leaving a small port opening so they can observe all goings on.

The Martians are bemused by crystals and vortexes - further study may be needed.

Even the Sedona uptown Xmas Tree is a secret vortex.

Ellie is learning to pay attention to the vortexes.

Sedona gets a 10 on the Martian score for natural beauty.

The Pink phenomenon is another curiosity that requires more Martian scrutiny.

The Martians decide that this whole thing called "Sedona", requires an in depth analysis. They bundle up the entire enchilada and transport it away in a specialized containment device.

We have discovered Zoltan The Magnificent has been replaced by this guy and his crystal head.

As always, drivers in a hurry miss everything.

This Starbuck's must have the all-time championship view for all Starbuck's.

At light speed the Martians make their get away - leaving behind only the surrounding natural splendour.

They forgot this gate.
